Why Does God Ask to Give Without Expecting Anything in Return

God is good.
In His goodness, He established two fundamental laws to bring every human being closer to Him, especially after repentance:

  • Take God as the only source of life.
  • Do good

Always remember that repentance is the only key capable of canceling the consequences of a past wrong, if it is sincere.

Doing good means living love, justice, forgiveness, listening, helping, truth, compassion, etc. It is a vast and living law that adapts to every situation. And within this rule of doing good, God also asks you for something important: to give without expecting anything in return.

Why does God ask to give without expecting?

First, because God Himself gives constantly, without expecting anything from humans. He wants His children to be like Him.

Second, because nature has its laws, often ignored by humans:

  • Whoever sincerely does good, according to God, will be rewarded, sometimes even through their descendants.
  • Whoever voluntarily does evil will also reap the fruits of their actions, sooner or later, and often through their descendants—unless they live according to God's will.

Many give and do good in front of others, but live far from God, in sin. They may receive the fruits of their actions, but will not return to God Himself after the end of their life on earth. They will lose life with God after death. They may have received something here below, but will have lost the essential: eternity with God.

Conclusion
Give, if it is possible, without expecting anything in return, while constantly striving to live in God’s will. Because no one knows the day of their departure. And if that day comes while you are in a state of purity, you will not only have lived with Him in His glory on this earth, but you can be sure you will continue to live with God forever.

Glory to God.
